About michael huggan photography
I have been photographing Horses and Wildlife for over 20 years. My photography started some 20 years earlier, honing my skills with black and white processing.
My Clients’ range from large organisations, Born Free, Exxon, RNLI, Surrey Ambulance Service to smaller organisations. In particular, the general public the best source of private commissions, and personal satisfaction for me. There is nothing better than to see the satisfaction on the customer’s face when presented with the picture they have commissioned. I consider I have done my job.
My articles and images have appeared in a number of Equestrian, Nature and general photographic magazines. There are two societies I am a member of: The Royal Photographic Society (RPS) and the Photographic Society of America (PSA). Awards from these societies have been in the form of Gold and Bronze medals, plus numerous ribbons and commendations. Coupled with interviews resulting in publication, or a local radio broadcast.
Exhibitions and displays play a big part in my activities. Feedback is essential to improvement in both the quality of my service and products and business style. The big advantage with displaying your pictures people can see what a picture will look like on their wall, or as a gift to someone. I often loan out pictures to people so they can see what a big picture will look like in their house.
My formal education and for much of my life, I practice as a charted mechanical engineer. Over my informative years I developed my passion for photography that has brought me to where I am now- totally immersed in all things photographic.
Over my early years I was very fortunate to meet several people who were extremely helpful with photography and gave me direction and purpose. How to look at a picture, what did you see when looking through the viewfinder and why did you take it? A question I often ask of photographers who are taking their photography more seriously.
I reside in Hampshire, England, UK where I live with my wife, surrounded by my family, animals and at the last count, six grandchildren. - Now there’s a photographic challenge.
All my photographic assignments are featured within my personal travel blog Wildlife and Wild Places in the 'Blog' section on this site.
I provide a full range of prints, canvas pictures, cards, stock photography and other accessories. I also host regular exhibitions, talks and lectures.
I am available for personal assignments such as photographing ‘horse and rider’ and can cover any event you may be organising.
